22 Weeks

How far along: 22 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: + 12 pounds

Sleep: First half of the week was good. Thursday was a great night! I only woke up once and that was with the super strong winds we had that night! But Friday-Sunday was not so great. I think I may have over done it a bit during the day and gave myself some pain in the lower back. I’m really hoping this is only temporary.

Best moments: Went to the doctor on Friday and everything looks great! I measured great and the heartbeat sounded good.

Movement: Every day!

Symptoms: Still have heart burn (especially when I eat spicy foods) and the back pain now.

Maternity clothes: Checked out the store that was on the news last week, Rung. Huge disappointment! I did go back to the Purple Cow though. I would say that is the best place in St. Louis that I’ve found. I’m just going to have to check back regularly for more stuff. I didn’t buy anything there this week though. I also went to Old Navy on Lemay Ferry where they have a whole maternity section and got a couple tops for when the weather starts to get nicer.

Food cravings: I guess Auntie Anne’s pretzels. I bought a make at home kit a while back, and made them yesterday…soooooooo delicious! Also, I really wanted Imo’s on Friday so Steve and I went there for no meat pizza and salad!

Food aversions: Nope.

What I'm eating: Turkey sandwiches, pineapple pizza, grilled cheese and soup (these 2 were my Lent meals on Friday), grilled chicken, salad, oranges, apples, chicken fajitas, milk, cereal, OJ, juice!

Exercise: A little bit better this week. The nicer weather helped with that. Lots of walks with Mario and I even joined my mom & aunt at the mall one night on their daily walk. I also did my yoga this weekend which really helped my back feel better afterwards.

Gender: BOY!

What I miss: I’m really enjoying almost everything about being pregnant (minus the back pain)!

What I am looking forward to: This weekend we are headed to Ikea in Chicago!! I’m really hoping we can get lots of stuff for the house, especially the baby’s room. There is some great shelving & rugs I want to look at for the baby room and lots more (just can’t remember right now). Hopefully, I’ll be able to share all of our great finds next week!

Milestones: We ordered a crib and dresser! I spent a lot of time looking at every crib on Target, Babies R Us, Wal-Mart, simplybabyfurniture.com, baby blogs, modern baby furniture websites and really did struggle (like that is a surprise) choosing one! When it came down to it, we wanted a modern crib, but not at the modern crib price! Some of these cribs I’m talking about are $500-$1,000 just for the crib (double that for the crib and changing table or dresser drawers). After reading lots of reviews we went with a line I found on Walmart’s website! I was surprised to find such a modern crib at such a great price, especially on Walmart’s website or all websites. We should have it by this weekend, and hope to get started on assembly soon! I only ordered the crib and dresser drawers (which we will make into a changing table), but here is the whole set!

21 Weeks

How far along: 21 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: + 10 pounds

Sleep: Still okay. I had a hard time falling asleep this weekend. But I did get one night where I went 5 hours without getting up to go to the bathroom! That is a record!!

Best moments: Still feeling the baby a lot! He likes to kick and move around the most right when I get into bed and read before going to sleep. I’m hoping that isn’t a sign of things to come! LOL!

Movement: Yup!

Symptoms: A little heart burn at night, but Pepcid takes care of it quickly.

Maternity clothes: I went out to a consignment shop at Sappington and Gravois this weekend and found a cute top and some black capris. Still no luck finding work pants though, so I just got a pair from Target. This week Heidi on Channel 5 News is doing a story on quality maternity clothes in St. Louis! I’ll have to head out to those stores once the story airs.

Food cravings: Nope.

Food aversions: Nope.

What I'm eating: Turkey sandwiches, cheese ravioli, veggie pizza, veggie lasagna, oranges, apples, chicken tacos, salad, milk, cereal, OJ, juice! I really don’t vary much from the normal stuff!

Exercise: Walking with Mario is sadly all I did this week…need to step it up!

Gender: Still a boy! The walls are blue, so no turning back now!

What I miss: A normal size bladder! Haha!

What I am looking forward to: Once I can actually pick out a pattern for material (ordered some samples this weekend) I can’t wait to get started on curtains, a bed skirt, and some accent pillows! My sister is going to be a GREAT help in this since she has awesome sewing skills. :)

Milestones: I’d say the 5 hours in one night without getting up to go to the bathroom is a pretty huge milestone!

One bad thing that did happen this past weekend…I was in a small fender bender in my NEW MINI VAN :( Baby and I were just fine, I’m just mostly upset about the damage to me new car. The other driver took responsibility, so that is good, but still the hassle of all of it is a pain! She side swiped me as she tried to get back into the lane (from the left turn lane) after realizing she was in the wrong lane. So there is a nice dent and scratch along the driver side of the van. Overall, not too bad though since we were all okay!

20 weeks

How far along: 20 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: + 9 pounds

Sleep: It’s going okay. I’ve been having lots of dreams and sleeping really lightly, plus there are the 4 trips a night to the bathroom. By this past weekend, I was ready to sleep in since I was still making up for lost sleep last weekend!

Best moments: Feeling the baby a lot AND we think Steve felt him the other night. Just a light little kick, but he felt something!

Movement: Lots of movement :)

Symptoms: I feel so lucky…still nothing terrible!

Maternity clothes: Same as last week. I need to go shopping for some work maternity pants soon!

Food cravings: Nope.

Food aversions: Nope.

What I'm eating: Chicken, turkey sandwiches, cheese ravioli, oranges, apples, grilled cheese & soup, Mexican, salad, veggie pizza, milk, cereal, OJ, juice!

Exercise: Lots of picking up and cleaning the house this weekend and Monday night. We are getting ready for some guests this coming weekend, so it is a good excuse for me to move around a lot. Walks with Mario too.

Gender: Another Chung boy to add to the family!

What I miss: This weekend we painted the baby’s room! Well, I say we, but really, I started out doing the trim, but soon the smell started to bother me, so Steve had to finish up the trim and paint the whole room. I am kind of a freak and a perfectionist when it comes to this kind of stuff, so it was really hard for me to not be in there and to not nag Steve about his painting skills and doing this instead of that!

What I am looking forward to: Grandma and Grandpa Chung are visiting this weekend. I’m excited for them to be here and to get to see the room and my bump! I hear grandma has been doing lots of shopping too, so that will be exciting!
Milestones: Getting the baby room painted! I think our goal over the next month is to get as much done in that room as possible!

19 weeks

How far along: 19 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: + 7 pounds

Sleep: Going really good. I can sometimes feel the baby moving around right when I’m getting ready to go to bed, but it doesn’t last too long.

Best moments: Had a GREAT weekend in Colorado with the girls! Myself and 6 other girls from Rolla met in Breckenridge, CO Friday through Monday. You may have heard that there was a blizzard in CO last Friday! So, of course we had a few hic-cups getting out there (3 cancelled flights and driving in some snowy conditions), but we made it up there late Friday night! I didn’t have one issue with the altitude and pregnancy combo! It was so great to see the girls and show them the baby bump and get to talk to them about baby Chung! Some of the girls I may not even see until after baby comes, so it was sad/strange saying goodbye knowing how different things will be the next time we are together.

We also had a long Skype talk with one of our missing Rolla girls who just had her little boy a couple weeks ago! It was so great to see her and her son and to talk about the baby and all about the labor!
(Hudson on the iPad during Skype)

Movement: Definitely feeling the little guy on pretty much a daily basis! I’ve felt lots of movements and just a couple kicks so far.

Symptoms: Nothing!

Maternity clothes: Maternity jeans and stretchy pants were my uniform all weekend! To work I’m still wearing a couple pairs of pants that were a little big before the pregnancy.

Food cravings: Nope.

Food aversions: Nope. What I'm eating: Turkey sandwiches, oranges, grilled cheese & soup, Mexican, stuffed shells, salad, veggie pizza, milk, cereal, OJ, juice!

Exercise: Not so great the last week, but we did do some walking around Breckenridge this weekend. And any uphill walking was like 3 times more difficult up in the higher altitude! LOL!

Gender: They are 99.9% sure, BOY!

What I miss: Being able to go longer than a couple hours without getting hungry! Haha!

What I am looking forward to: Last weekend Steve was an awesome dad and primed the baby room. This weekend, we hope to continue working on the room and hopefully get more accomplished! I’m also looking forward to just being able to sleep in late in my own bed!

Milestones: Feeling him move around is a pretty big change for me. The first day I felt it I thought I was sick or something! Then it just continued every day, so I know that it is just him moving around. He seems very active, so I guess that is good! And it just makes it seem that much more real!
