30 Weeks

How far along: 30 Weeks
Total weight gain: + 19 pounds

Sleep:  Still just okay.  Tossing and turning is getting more difficult and usually is accompanied with a grunt or moan.  I’ll usually only switch sides after getting up to go to the bathroom (which is like 3 or 4 times a night)!  Saturday night I was really wiped from the big shower that day, so I slept GREAT!  I only woke up twice all night and got over 8 ½ hours of sleep.

Best moments: My first baby shower was this past weekend.  Everything was perfect!  My sister and aunts went above and beyond and delivered an amazing party with the cutest decorations and the best food!  It was so good to see everyone and celebrate the little one.  My mother-in-law and Steve’s aunt & uncle even made the trip in from KC!  I really appreciate everyone’s generosity and great gifts!  I can’t wait to get all of it set up in the little guy’s room J   I’ve included some more pictures below!
Movement:  Lots of kick, especially on my right side.  I’m guessing there is a foot right there!

Symptoms: Charlie horses!  I had the worst one of my life this past week (I’ve been getting them a few nights a week).  I popped up so fast and when trying to walk it off I almost fell over!

Maternity clothes: I got to wear one of my new dresses at the shower this weekend!

Food cravings: I’ve been eating 2 breakfasts.  I’ll have a mini bagel with cream cheese and blueberries on the drive to work.  Then, a couple hours later I have a bowl of cereal.  No night time cravings, which I guess is good.

Food aversions: Nope.

What I'm eating: Fruit, bagels, cereal, milk, frozen yogurt, grilled cheese, pizza, bbq chicken, and all of the usuals.  At my shower this weekend, the spread was all of my favorites!  Gus’ pretzels, veggies & dip, buffalo chicken strips, fruit, cheese & crackers, chips with guacamole & salsa, turkey sandwiches and cupcakes!  It was awesome.  Here is a picture of the food table and some of the ADORABLE decorations they had set up!

Exercise:  Walks with Mario.  Longer walks aren’t as easy, but I think as long as I get in some short walks, that is good!

What I miss:  My old clothes!

What I am looking forward to:  Going through all of our new baby gear that we received at the shower this past weekend!  There are quite a few items that will need to be assembled.  The rest will need to get organized and find a “home” in the baby room or somewhere in our house.

Milestones:  We ordered a glider!  We went with the Hagan chair from Best Home Furnishings (on Lindbergh next to Joey B’s) in “mist”, which is really just a grey (not the color below)!

29 Weeks

How far along: 29 Weeks

Total weight gain: + 18 pounds

Sleep: I’ve been really tired this week, but trying to get to bed early has been a challenge. I can’t actually fall asleep until Steve and I are both in bed and the lights are out, so waiting on him usually makes me stay up later that I really want to. I did get lots of sleep over the weekend which was nice.

Best moments: The previous weekend I had been experiencing a strange beating feeling in my lower belly. I thought it was just my heart beat? Then this past Tuesday while I was at work I had it again and realized that this might be the baby hiccuping! I googled it and talked to a co-worker who verified that it was in fact him having the HICCUPS! Also, my pregnant friend found out this week that she is having a BOY! We met in high school and since our boys are so close in age, they may end up in the same high school and grade one day!

Movement: He is all over the place.

Symptoms: Just feeling like my belly is really heavy and having a hard time if it isn’t supported. I wore non-maternity pants (elastic waistband) to work one day, and I just felt so uncomfortable the whole day. I will be wearing maternity pants from here on out because my belly isn’t getting any smaller! ;) Later in the week I picked up a support band that has since been helping with this and my lower back pain as well.

Maternity clothes: Finally had my first Gap Maternity shopping experience. There was quite a bit on sale, so I was able to pick up 2 tops and some lounging pants. I might need to stop shopping for maternity clothes soon…oops!

Food cravings: A good salad one night, so we got carry out from Joey B’s…MMMM!

Food aversions: Nope.

What I'm eating: Margarita pizza, salad with chicken and cheese garlic bread, turkey sandwiches, apples, fruit cups, milk and cereal, fiber pop-tarts, left over Easter candy, chips & guacamole, nachos at the ballpark (very disappointing), grilled chicken sandwich, cheese & crackers, Mexican fiesta Sunday dinner.

Exercise: Wasn’t feeling very comfortable earlier in the week, so I didn’t get much walking in, but later in the week was better. Plus Friday at Opening day we walked around the stadium a bit. After the long day my back was hurting though!

What I miss: I had to cut my toenails one night and it was such an uncomfortable/difficult position to be in! I guess it is pedicures only from here on out! Oh well!

What I am looking forward to: This weekend is going to be an very exciting but busy weekend. Thursday we have our 5th baby class. Friday I have my last monthly check-up with the doctor (go to every other week after that), then Steve’s family will be arriving sometime in the afternoon. His mom, dad, aunt, uncle, cousins and their 2 kiddos are coming to stay with us for the weekend and to go to the baby shower! Saturday late afternoon is the “Baby Shower Happy Hour”! I’m excited to see everyone and for my first baby shower. My sister and aunts (all 4 of them) are throwing this shower for me, so I know it is going to be great!

Milestones: More working in the baby’s room…Kelly came over this weekend and we got started on the curtains. They are going to look so GREAT! She is so awesome for helping me! I’m also making good progress on the mobile. We are also “seriously” shopping for the glider now (I guess before we were just looking, but we need to get this done soon since some places can take 10-12 weeks!)

I would also say surviving Opening Day was a pretty big milestone. It was a loooong day (woke up at 6:00am, left house at 7:45, left Aunt Erin’s at 8:15, tailgated from 8:45-3:00pm, game 3:00-5:30, getting out of down town and drive back to Aunt Erin’s til 6:30, didn’t get home til probably 7:30…like I said, loooong day)! It was a lot of fun, but with the rain, colder temperatures, and Cardinal loss, it could have been better. I meant to get a picture with the shirt I made, but I never took off my sweatshirt! Here is Steve and I at the tailgate! He just had to wear his Royals gear!

How far along: 28 Weeks

Total weight gain: + 17 pounds

Sleep: Same pattern where I’ll have one good night, one bad night, etc. I read that the tiredness returns during the 3rd trimester, and I’m definitely noticing it! I’m hoping to make it to bed earlier than usual during the week nights this week.

Best moments: Nothing big happened with the baby this week, but I have received a few compliments about how great I look for bring 6 months pregnant! That is really nice to hear (especially when I don’t feel like I look so great)!

Movement: If his activity level while I’m trying to sleep has any foreshadowing for after he is born, I am in trouble!

Symptoms: Little bit of heartburn still, but it is worth it for my Mexican cravings :) I’ve started getting some leg cramps in the middle of the night…that is no fun!

Maternity clothes: Still wearing it, but could always use more ;)

Food cravings: Easter candy…hehe!

Food aversions: Nope.

What I'm eating: According to my brother, I am not eating much different than I did pre-pregnancy, which I guess is pretty much true! We all know I am not the most adventurous eater. But I do enjoy what I eat, so that is good! Same as usual, with a couple Mexican restaurants over the weekend, plus a Dixie Stampede dinner eaten by hand! Easter dinner was delicious too—fried chicken, mostacholi, green beans, cheesy potatoes, salad, and my sister’s amazing carrot cake!

Exercise: We were in Branson this weekend (which explains the Dixie Stampede) with Steve's mom, dad, David, Heather and some friends. We went to Silver Dollar City as well. It was a great day full of lots of walking, sitting and WAITING! Being 6 months pregnant I obviously didn’t go on any rides. I was actually going to get to do something at the end of the day but because it started lightning, the cave tour closed down :( We also were able to take the dogs (we brought Mario and Steve’s parents brought Teddy) out for walks on the Landing. Friday the weather was GORGEOUS (too bad Mario was distracted during this picture)!!
Gender: If I keep eating Mexican food as much as I have…it will be a ¼ American, ¼ Chinese, ½ Mexican baby boy! LOL!

What I miss: Not that I am a huge amusement park ride person, but I did miss getting to go on a couple rides. He’s totally worth it though! Plus, I stayed dry while everyone else got wet and cold on the water rides!

What I am looking forward to: This weekend is Cardinals Opening Day! I actually found a maternity Cardinals shirt that I “blinged” up a bit during the drive this past weekend. And I know it is still 2 weeks away, but I am getting really excited for my first shower!!

Milestones: Didn’t do much this past week, but overall I have been feeling pretty good, so that has got to be a milestone!

27 Weeks

How far along: 27 Weeks
Total weight gain: + 16.5 pounds

Sleep: Has not been the greatest this past week. I’ll have one good night, one bad night, etc. Little man is definitely keeping me awake with all of those kicks!

Best moments: Steve was on travel this week Monday & Tuesday night but while talking at night I had a speaker hooked up to my phone up against my belly and just Steve’s voice got the baby excited and moving around :)

Movement: LOTS! Especially at night still.

Symptoms: Heartburn is like 95% gone! Just out of nowhere, it stopped. So weird!

Maternity clothes: Did lots of maternity shopping this past week. I got several items at the Purple Cow, including some new tops for work. I also went shopping this weekend at West County and the Mills Outlet Mall and got a couple dresses to possibly wear to my showers!

Food cravings: Pretty normal…no pickles and ice cream, that is for sure (well, maybe a little of the ice cream J). We were grocery shopping Friday night at about 9pm and I really wanted a rice krispy treat from the bakery, but then I decided to just make them myself! I made them that night! Haha!

Food aversions: Nope.

What I'm eating: Milk & cereal, turkey sandwiches, apples, chicken tacos, veggies & dip, guacamole & chips, popcorn, turkey tenderloin, sweet potato fries, grilled chicken sandwich, Girl Scout cookies, rice krispy treats, etc.

Exercise: Went on a couple walks with mom & Aunt Erin at the trail this week. It was so nice! Friday did a major clean on the house, and Saturday a lot of walking while shopping :)

Gender: I should just take this one off…LOL…BOY!

What I miss: Sleeping through the whole night.

What I am looking forward to: Our next baby class! The first 2 have been really informative and our instructor is really great. The best part is the last 15 minutes where the moms get to sit on the floor in front of the dads while they give us messages and we listen to relaxing music. I wish I could go straight to bed right after that, but unfortunately we have to get up and drive home still!

Milestones: Not really all baby related, but just getting a lot accomplished this weekend:
Friday
-toured another day care
-interviewed a pediatrician
-maternity clothing shopping
-Steve got the whole lawn mowed, weeded, sprayed, etc.
-ordered some wallpaper samples potentially for the dining room
-cleaned the house
-grocery shopped
Saturday
-more maternity clothes shopping
-checked out some ottoman’s at Best Home Furnishings (thanks Maureen for the tip!)
-enjoyed a great trivia night with family and high school friends (and their significant others)
Sunday
-organized basement (dad built us amazing shelves for all of our stuff)
-Steve & dad got the in-ground basketball hoop started (huge hole dug and cement part #1 poured)
-dropped off some donations to Goodwill
-hosted a nice Sunday dinner with the family all at our house
-even did some laundry
And I’m sure there is more…just can’t remember right now!
