How far along: 29 Weeks
Total weight gain: + 18 pounds
Sleep: I’ve been really tired this week, but trying to get to bed early has been a challenge. I can’t actually fall asleep until Steve and I are both in bed and the lights are out, so waiting on him usually makes me stay up later that I really want to. I did get lots of sleep over the weekend which was nice.
Best moments: The previous weekend I had been experiencing a strange beating feeling in my lower belly. I thought it was just my heart beat? Then this past Tuesday while I was at work I had it again and realized that this might be the baby hiccuping! I googled it and talked to a co-worker who verified that it was in fact him having the HICCUPS! Also, my pregnant friend found out this week that she is having a BOY! We met in high school and since our boys are so close in age, they may end up in the same high school and grade one day!
Movement: He is all over the place.
Symptoms: Just feeling like my belly is really heavy and having a hard time if it isn’t supported. I wore non-maternity pants (elastic waistband) to work one day, and I just felt so uncomfortable the whole day. I will be wearing maternity pants from here on out because my belly isn’t getting any smaller! ;) Later in the week I picked up a support band that has since been helping with this and my lower back pain as well.
Maternity clothes: Finally had my first Gap Maternity shopping experience. There was quite a bit on sale, so I was able to pick up 2 tops and some lounging pants. I might need to stop shopping for maternity clothes soon…oops!
Food cravings: A good salad one night, so we got carry out from Joey B’s…MMMM!
Food aversions: Nope.
What I'm eating: Margarita pizza, salad with chicken and cheese garlic bread, turkey sandwiches, apples, fruit cups, milk and cereal, fiber pop-tarts, left over Easter candy, chips & guacamole, nachos at the ballpark (very disappointing), grilled chicken sandwich, cheese & crackers, Mexican fiesta Sunday dinner.
Exercise: Wasn’t feeling very comfortable earlier in the week, so I didn’t get much walking in, but later in the week was better. Plus Friday at Opening day we walked around the stadium a bit. After the long day my back was hurting though!
What I miss: I had to cut my toenails one night and it was such an uncomfortable/difficult position to be in! I guess it is pedicures only from here on out! Oh well!
What I am looking forward to: This weekend is going to be an very exciting but busy weekend. Thursday we have our 5th baby class. Friday I have my last monthly check-up with the doctor (go to every other week after that), then Steve’s family will be arriving sometime in the afternoon. His mom, dad, aunt, uncle, cousins and their 2 kiddos are coming to stay with us for the weekend and to go to the baby shower! Saturday late afternoon is the “Baby Shower Happy Hour”! I’m excited to see everyone and for my first baby shower. My sister and aunts (all 4 of them) are throwing this shower for me, so I know it is going to be great!
Milestones: More working in the baby’s room…Kelly came over this weekend and we got started on the curtains. They are going to look so GREAT! She is so awesome for helping me! I’m also making good progress on the mobile. We are also “seriously” shopping for the glider now (I guess before we were just looking, but we need to get this done soon since some places can take 10-12 weeks!)
I would also say surviving Opening Day was a pretty big milestone. It was a loooong day (woke up at 6:00am, left house at 7:45, left Aunt Erin’s at 8:15, tailgated from 8:45-3:00pm, game 3:00-5:30, getting out of down town and drive back to Aunt Erin’s til 6:30, didn’t get home til probably 7:30…like I said, loooong day)! It was a lot of fun, but with the rain, colder temperatures, and Cardinal loss, it could have been better. I meant to get a picture with the shirt I made, but I never took off my sweatshirt! Here is Steve and I at the tailgate! He just had to wear his Royals gear!
